Wow, it feels like forever since I’ve posted an Etsy {Weds}day collection! I was looking over a few of my past collections and I’ve noticed a trend: I prefer short wedding dresses, I like touches of 50s style, I love a punch of color, I’m not very traditional. Let me just say that I almost bought the dress in today’s feature. I love it. My future wedding dress will be something very, very similar, but I’m just not ready to walk down the aisle yet…and having that adorable dress around might be jumping the gun a tad. And oh…those shoes are stunningly fantastic but alas, my feet are tiny, itty-bitty things that will swim in them. Sigh…

When it comes to formal events, black and white is a classic and sophisticated option. The trouble with black and white is that it can be associated with stuffiness and very serious affairs. For a lighter (but no less beautiful) approach, a summer black and white wedding featuring soft shapes, organic materials and a variety of patterns is perfectly appropriate. Etsy {Weds}day: A Garden Wedding
This past weekend I was able to attend a really lovely outdoor wedding. The ceremony was held in a simple gazebo with flowers and trees all around. The father-of-the-groom had a caterpillar crawling on his shoulder throughout. The clouds threatened to let loose in a very serious way. While it was not an idyllic wedding day, it was a beautiful sort of “one with nature” experience. Today’s Etsy picks are inspired by those brave enough to commit to the garden wedding and all that it entails.
