Twin Shadow - Slow

Really loving Twin Shadow. Don’t be deceived by the - um - creep factor of the video. It is a jam worthy of your time. If you find that you are down with their sound, check out “I Can’t Wait.” It is an amazing addition to your summer soundtrack.

Weekend Vintage: GermanFest

Another one of my favorite weekends - GermanFest in Milwaukee!! Beer, brats and girls with braids in their hair - my kind of time. Here are some vintage finds from Etsy that fit the occasion - Prost!

Barbershop Quartet Dress!

I’m in love. I saw this dress on Etsy about a week ago in violetvillevintage’s shop. I couldn’t handle it anymore - had to get it! The best part is that the print is a barbershop quartet - how adorable is that?! I don’t think I have to worry about wearing the same thing as anyone else. :) Can’t wait for it to arrive.

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - Take Away Show

Two things I love: Take Away Shows from la blogotheque and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. This is so great - I kind of hate that I wasn’t there! Oh well, here is the next best thing:

Just wanted to share a little jam with you guys. There is a lot of awesome happening here. Gayngs is an indie mega group including the likes of Justin Vernon (Bon Iver,) members of Solid Gold, members of Megafaun and about 15 other artists from the midwest. Another interesting bit of trivia: the theme of this Minneapolis show was “The Last Prom on Earth” - which is sort of frightening.

The vid is an eight minute commitment, but if you’re in the mood for a slow jam - the eight minutes is worth it. Love it.

You Are Beautiful

Just a reminder…xoxo.

Marina and the Diamonds - Oh No!

Let me say, firstly, this is not my typical taste in music. That said, I have been quietly loving this video from Marina & the Diamonds. The song is…weird and surprisingly catchy, but I think it’s the intense use of color and a touch of a 60s vibe that made me post it. I just like looking at this girl and her video. She wears some killer dresses in it, too. Play it once all the way through - you’ll like it or at least, not hate it.

Invitation Buzz Mention!

I got a friendly little convo today from Heather and Emily of Invitation Buzz letting me know that they featured one of my designs in their blog about veggie stationery! Lovely company to be in - check out some of the other shops! XOXO.

Catalog Living = Hilarious

So, it is late on Saturday night and I have a gift for you all - an amazing, laugh factory of a blog called Catalog Living. I just went through all of their posts and LOL’d many a time. I’ve never really thought about it, but catalog photos ARE impressively stupid and they SHOULD be made fun of. Happy 4th of July! XOXO…
